Terms of Service
These terms set out what Stillday does and does not provide, and the part of the responsibility that falls to you. We've tried to write them in plain language.
Last updated: September 1, 2026 · Effective: September 8, 2026
1. Accepting these terms
These terms are the agreement between you and the developer of Stillday about using the Stillday app and this website. By downloading, installing or using Stillday, you confirm that you have read them and accept them.
If you are under 18, please read them with a guardian and get their consent.
2. What Stillday provides
Stillday is a local journal tool. It does four things: lets you jot down a line, a photo and a mood for today; files those entries into Memory Walk and the calendar by date; brings the same date from earlier years back to the top of your Today page in the morning; and exports and imports backup files on your own device.
Stillday offers no community, publishing, reposting, matching or any other social feature, and it has no content moderation duty — because no content ever leaves your phone.
3. Accounts and devices
Stillday needs no registration for any of its core features, so there is no account to be stolen and no password to recover.
Your data is bound to your device. Before changing phones, wiping a device or uninstalling the app, please make your own backup. You are responsible for looking after your device and its passcode.
4. Fees
Stillday is currently free, with no in-app purchases and no subscriptions, and no ads in the interface. If paid features ever appear, they will be clearly marked, and they will not affect your access to entries you have already written.
Data charges, device storage and cloud drive costs are settled between you and your provider, and are unrelated to Stillday.
5. Your entries belong to you
Everything you write in Stillday belongs to you (or to the relevant rights holder). Stillday claims no licence over it, does not use it to train models, and does not use it for any analytics or marketing — and we have no technical means to do so, because that content is not in our hands.
You are responsible for what you write, including any information about other people that it contains.
6. Acceptable use
Please don't do any of the following:
- use Stillday to create or store content that breaks the law, or to evade a legal duty of content management;
- reverse engineer, decompile or break the app's encrypted storage, or remove its copyright and brand marks;
- distribute a modified build under the Stillday name, or claim a partnership with Stillday that doesn't exist;
- bulk-export backup files from other people's devices in order to harass them, profile them, or otherwise infringe their rights.
7. Intellectual property
The Stillday name, icon, interface design and source code, along with the text and layout of this website, belong to Stillday's developer. You may screenshot and share the interface for personal study, reviews or recommendations in a non-commercial setting, with attribution; for commercial use, contact us first and get written permission.
8. Disclaimer
- Stillday is not liable for entries lost because a device was lost, damaged, unlocked by someone else or failed, or because you cleared its data yourself — which is exactly why we keep reminding you to back up.
- On This Day depends on system notifications and background policies, and on some devices the reminder may not arrive. That is not a defect in the service.
- Stillday is provided "as is". We fix problems within our ability to do so, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted, and never have a defect.
9. Changes and termination
We may adjust, suspend or discontinue parts of the service, and we will say so in advance on this page and in the changelog. For a build already installed on your device, we will not remotely delete or lock your entries unless there is a security or legal risk.
10. Updates to these terms
These terms will be updated as the product changes. Significant changes will be announced with a dialog when the app starts; ordinary wording edits take effect on the date shown on this page. Continuing to use Stillday means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law and disputes
The formation, performance and interpretation of these terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China. Any dispute arising from them should first be resolved through friendly negotiation; if that fails, either party may bring a claim before a competent people's court in the place where Stillday's developer is based.
